Bronx Community College Sports Day

The students of I.S. 381 traveled to Bronx Community College to take part in their annual track and field competition. Twenty two eighth grade students were chosen to compete by Physical Education teacher Ms. Paul. The students were extremely excited to take part in the activities with a chance of winning trophies and awards. Danae Martin and Maya Acevedo took first place in the potato sack races. Jason Joly-Fils took second place in the 100 yard dash. Nysean Arrington, Luiz Marius, Ivan Cardona and Mayra Ludovick took first place in the 4x4 dash. George Pylyplenko, Ashthon Brown, Sony Fontilus and Gokhan Gormus placed first in the 4x1 dash. Nysean Arrington, Kern Lessey, Sony Fontilus, Anthon Brown and Luiz Marius came in first place in the five on five basketball tournament. The staff and volunteers at Bronx Community College were extremely helpful, courteous and supportive of all students in attendance. I.S. 381 was presented with a trophy for most first place wins. That’s right, we won a trophy for winning trophies! All children, regardless of whether or not they had a trophy in their hand or a medal around their neck, enjoyed themselves today. Ms. Paul, Ms. Brizard and Mr. Tormey were on hand to assist and ensure all students left and returned safely. Now we begin training for Summer 2020!
